Mysteries of the city

Well-tempered streets

A somewhat unusual installation has been taking the poles of the capital. Improvised and colorful vases offer spices like basil, rosemary and pepper to pedestrians. Implanted in timidly about a year ago, the initiative has proliferated a lot in the last two months, reaching seventy points in neighborhoods like Bixiga, Morumbi and Vila Madalena. "The intention is to share the vegetables and take a different smell to the streets," says Francisco Santos, of the Escala Humana collective, who created the project.
